Our Mission: Enable individual persons who have serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorder and/or a dual diagnosis of SMI and IDD to live a life that is meaningful to her or him in the community on terms she/he defines.
Title: Transportation and Facilities Supervisor: Program Director Brief Description of Program: PCS Mental Health, LLC will operate a Residential Treatment Facility for Adults (RTF-A) serving members from Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Luzerne, Wyoming, Carbon, Monroe and Pike Counties.
In this locked, sixteen bed homelike setting, Members will continue in their recovery journey and will develop and improve the skills needed to disrupt the cycle of institutional living.
The RTF-A will be staffed 24x7 to provide members the support, education and knowledge to live within the greater community.
Each member will identify his/her own Blue-Sky, life-worth-living goal(s) and use these as inspiration in developing their unique Recovery/Treatment Plan.
Summary of Job Duties: This position is a hybrid position of Transportation and Facilities.
This employee is responsible for all minor repairs of the RTFA home and associated systems, appliances, installation of new equipment and repair of existing equipment, maintenance of the grounds, and general custodial care of the facility as assigned.
A wide variety of skills is needed, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and custodial work.
This position is also the primary driver for the program.
This individual will also be responsible for transporting members to/from appointments and any driving necessary for the program to run effectively.
In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle(s) in good working order and maintaining full documentation as it pertains to the vehicles and their use.
Specific Responsibilities: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the RTFA building and grounds including providing minor repairs to the facilities plumbing, electrical system, Maintaining assigned equipment in proper working order.
Maintaining grounds, lawns, and sprinkler systems.
Maintaining a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary items required to do jobs as assigned Transport members to/from their apartment to appointments, shopping, D&A meetings, etc.
Consistent completion of van usage logs and driver daily van inspection checklists Van maintenance including cleaning and preventative maintenance Errands as required by the Community Complete all trainings and continuing education requirement The ability to have fun in the workplace Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a social service setting Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings Excellent communication and interpersonal skills General passion for creative problem-solving Ability to have fun in the workplace PA Driver’s License and clean driving record Position Expectations Staff member will demonstrate in their work with Members at ALL times, compassion, and concern when supporting a Member through embracing our organization's Mission and Core Values.
Staff will approach Member engagement from a non-judgmental stance understanding that a Member's behavior is driven by past experience, which may include trauma.
Staff will treat and speak to Members with supportive kindness even when a Member demonstrates intense behavioral or emotional actions.
Staff will show Members dignity and respect for their values and lifestyle.
Staff will seek out appropriate support through consultation with Program Director and obtain supervision, when they are uncertain about how to respond or support a Member effectively.
Staff will report back to the Program Director and Team, any observations of Member behavior that suggests Member may need additional treatment interventions and/or support.
Staff will engage with all external parties/individuals with appropriate professionalism and with a positive customer service approach, understanding that they are representing the organization at all times.
