Responsible for the management of the Quality Department’s operations and activities.
This individual acts as a direct liaison between customers and operations and will work closely with the Process and Product Development departments.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities
• Administer and develop all aspects of quality systems in accordance with regulatory, industry, and customer standards
• Serve as the Management Representative for the Company as described in the Quality manual
• Responsible for PFN Quality Management System
• Oversight to Document Control and Technical standards.
• Supervise the activities of assigned staff and monitor the activities of QA/QC personnel within the Quality Department
• Represent the Company to vendors, customers, and appropriate regulatory officials in matters related to quality.
• Administer the quality audit program
• Provide training to staff, as required, for implementing quality initiatives
• Develop annual quality plans and recommendations for continual improvement in conjunction with and Site Leadership Team
• Determine methods and implement plans for professional development of personnel within the Quality Department
• Propose budgets and monitor budget activity for the Quality Department as directed by business needs.
• Partners with Operations to ensure production and delivery of quality products
• Provide statistical analysis for evaluation of products and processes
• Conduct lab tours and explain quality system to visitors
• Understand competitive product features in comparison to PFNonwovens products
• Assist with Product Development and Business Development
• Oversee investigative studies into reported quality concerns with development of corresponding corrective actions
Purpose and role of job:
• BS Degree in an Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Business, or Science discipline
• Minimum 5+ years as a Quality Manager, Technical Manager, or QC Supervisor in a manufacturing environment (nonwovens experience preferred)
• Supervisory experience required
• Experienced with auditing to quality standards (GMP and/or ISO systems)
• ASQ certification or equivalent body of knowledge: CQM, CQE, COA preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated technical, business, and managerial skills
• Knowledge of quality systems (EDANA/ISO standards)
• Skilled in statistics, procedure implementation, and quality auditing
• Competent in interactions with executive management, vendors, and customers
Work Environment: Observes all safety rules and uses proper safety equipment at all times.
Physical Requirements: Frequent walking and sitting; occasional climbing of stairs
