Ultra-Poly is now recycling automotive bumpers and we have an immediate need for a Rear Load Driver at our Portland, PA location! This is a fast-paced job for a highly motivated, flexible, and ambitious individual.
Initially, this position will require 2 or 3 days per week to pick up material but will ramp up to 5 days in the next 12 months.
While you are not driving the recycling truck you will work with the fleet maintenance manager in the yard.
What you can expect to be doing:
Collect and haul automotive bumpers for delivery to our Portland, PA manufacturing facility
Operate rear loader truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet and as designated by the Supervisor
Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles
Haul, lift, and load items and materials into the truck
Maintain a courteous and cordial manner with all customers encountered on the route
Be able to work at a skilled pace and team with assigned Helper
Other duties as assigned
Hourly range $20.
00 - $35.
00 (base pay + commission)
Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:
This position may require driving in congested and/or confined areas
Set routes in various areas, so excellent driving/maneuvering skills are essential
Ability to read and understand a map
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
General knowledge of the mechanics of trucks
Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of CDL driving experience
Must possess a Class A or Class B CDL
Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain it before hire
Must keep both CDL and DOT medical cards in good standing
Subject to yearly MVRs
Must pass a road test as part of the hiring process
Must be able to read and speak the English language

Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
Need to be able to read, write, and understand English
Basic computer knowledge is a plus
Lastly, have a positive attitude and be willing to assist others when needed.
